In summer 2014 I got the chance to go to Tanzania. I started off with two weeks of summer school in Ifakara. A small and remote village yet rich of culture. We had the chance to meet and get to know people in a way not many tourists have the opportunity to. I had already experienced and learned what felt like a lot and yet that had only been two weeks out of a two month trip. If you consider the whole country I didn’t exactly see very much of it but I sure experienced a lot in a way I had never before. I got to see some of the country’s beautiful landscape and scenery but more important I got to interact with the people and their culture like I had never never before. In the end that meant more to me than rushing through a large country just to see the big five. And I still got to see about three out of the five.
