Originally I had planned to hike around Yosemite but due to snow I had to divert to a warmer area. I wanted to backpack along a trail for several days. I found a bunch of trails but they were either too cold or too hard to get to. Those trails were all for some other time and so I decided to hike the Trans-Catalina Trail. It’s an incredible 45 mile (approximately 72.4km) thru-hike across the Santa Catalina Island. It’s a rewarding hike with spectacular views, animals such as buffalos (left there from an old western movie set), foxes and deer and other backpackers.
